THE infamous Ally Pally wasp landed on Callan Rydz’s HEAD during his World Darts Championship last-16 match against Robert Owen this afternoon.
Just as the Riot was about to throw in the second set, the wasp landed on his hair before quickly flying away.

Luckily for Rydz, he was not affected by the insect and took his throw as normal.
But many fans watching live on Sky Sports noticed it – especially after the incident was replayed in slow motion.
One person took to X to write: “This Ally Pally Wasp action has made me laugh more than anything in years. What the super slo-mo was made for…”
Another joked: “It’s good to see the Ally Pally wasp is still alive and kicking.”
A third said: “The Ally Pally wasp, some things never change.”
While a fourth quipped: “The Ally Pally wasp seems to have found a home .”
Wasps have plagued stars at Alexandra Palace in recent years, so much so that a running joke started.
Ross Smith was stung three times at last year’s competition during his match against Niels Zonneveld.

Luke Littler also appeared to be stung during his quarter-final match against Brendan Dolan.
Rydz went on to beat Owen 4-3 to book his spot in the World Darts Championship quarter-finals.
He will now face Michael van Gerwen or Jeffrey de Graaf in the last eight.
