EVIL Beinash Batool abused and tortured her stepdaughter Sara Sharif, which tragically resulted in the 10-year-old’s death.

Here we take a look at who Sara’s stepmother is, how long she was sentenced to and the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding the innocent girl’s murder.

Who is Beinash Batool? 

Beinash Batool is the partner of Sara Sharif’s dad — Urfan Sharif.

The pair fled the UK the day before Sara was discovered dead at Sharif’s home in Woking, Surrey, on August 10, 2023.

Sharif and Batool left Britain with his brother Faisal Malik and five children aged between one and 13, before going into hiding in Pakistan.

The trio returned to the UK after five weeks on the night of Septeber 13, with cops storming the plane to arrest them.

Sources in Pakistan reported that they had surrendered to authorities in order to be allowed to return to the UK, following negotiations through a lawyer.

What has Beinash Batool said about Sara Sharif’s death? 

A video emerged on September 6, 2023, of Sharif and Batool reading a statement together about the horror.

Batool said her family were “willing to cooperate with the UK authorities and fight our case in court” — but moaned about the conditions they were living under at the time.

She said: “Firstly, I would like to talk about Sara. Sara’s death was an incident. Our family in Pakistan are severely affected by all that is going on.”

Batool also said her went into hiding as “everyone is scared for their safety”.

She continued: “The kids are unable to attend school as they’re afraid to leave the house. No one is leaving the house.

“The groceries have run out and there is no food for the kids as the adults are unable to leave their homes out of fear for safety.”

It was the first time the pair surfaced since they disappeared to Pakistan.

What happened to Sara Sharif?

Sara Sharif’s body was found on August 10, 2023, at the family home in Woking.

Her body was discovered after her dad Urfan Sharif called 999 from Pakistan.

A post-mortem examination found Sara had suffered “multiple and extensive injuries” over a “sustained and extended” period of time.

Police previously found Sara’s five siblings, who were aged between one and 13 at the time, after a raid at their grandfather’s home in Jhelum.

An inquest later the same month on August 29 heard that Sara’s death is “likely to be unnatural”.

On September 15, 2023, Sharif, Batool and Malik appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court and were charged with Sara’s murder.

Timeline of events

January 2023: Sara started wearing a hijab to school, which covered most of her face.

March 2023: Sara’s school noticed bruising on Sara’s face when her hijab moved.

April 2023: In an effort to hide evidence of the ongoing abuse, Urfan Sharif informed the school that Sara will be homeschooled with immediate effect.

May-August 2023Sara endured a brutal campaign of sadistic abuse, including being hooded, tied up, beaten with a cricket bat, burnt with an iron and bitten.

August 8, 202310-year-old Sara tragically died at the family home in Woking, Surrey.

August 9, 2023Beinash Batool, Urfan Sharif and their family fled to Pakistan.

August 10, 2023Sharif phoned Surrey Police from Pakistan, alerting them to Sara’s death and leading to the discovery of her body.

September 6, 2023: A video of Batool and Sharif appeared online during which she spoke on behalf of the couple, describing Sara’s death as an “incident” and stating that they were willing to cooperate with British police and fight their case in court.

September 13, 2023: Sharif, Batool and Malik were arrested on arrival at Gatwick Airport after returning to the UK.

September 15, 2023: Batool, Sharif and Malik were charged with Sara’s murder at Guildford Magistrates Court.

October 8, 2024: The trial at the Old Bailey started.

November 6, 2024: Sharif admitted to killing his daughter Sara during the trial, saying “I take full responsibility”.

December 11, 2024Batool and Sharif were found guilty of murdering Sara. Malik was found guilty of causing or allowing her death.

December 17, 2024: Batool, Sharif and Malik were sentenced to the following terms at HMP Belmarsh:

Beinash Batool was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 33 years.

Urfan Sharif got life imprisonment with a minimum term of 40 years.

Faisal Malik was given 16 years behind bars.

Mr Justice Cavanagh said During sentencing that Sara’s death was the “culmination of years of neglect, frequent assaults, and what can only be described as the torture of this small child”.
