HARROWING footage has emerged of construction workers clinging onto cables for dear life after part of a high rise building site collapsed.

The terrifying accident happened yesterday in Sao Paolo, Brazil, when a structure connecting two buildings 450 feet high suddenly collapsed.

Workers were seen dangling from the wires

The high rise buildings were under construction when the tragedy occurred

Four builders were seen clinging onto cables between the two high rise buildings, after one plummeted to her death.

Video taken from a nearby building showed the incident and appeared to show workers on the ground scrambling to reach the worker who fell to their death.

Ten fire department vehicles rushed to the scene and rescued those hanging on to the cables, but were unable to save the worker who fell, according to O Tempo.

One of the survivors was taken to hospital with body pain, but is expected to recover.

Last year, terrifying footage showed two construction workers being thrown to their death from a platform during a dust storm in Iran.

The pair were working from the suspended platform hanging from the roof of a high-rise building when the tragedy unfolded.

As both men cling to the flimsy structure, pieces of it begin to fall off as it slams repeatedly into the wall of the building.

Finally, one man slips out of the cradle as it falls apart, plummeting to the ground.

In 2021, a construction worker died after a mast fell on him in a horror building site accident.

And in Nigeria, a luxury skyscraper collapsed in Lagos, leaving hundreds trapped in the rubble and killing many more.

Wisdom John, 28, a bricklayer, said he escaped with just a few cuts because he had been on the ground floor when the building collapsed into a pile of concrete.
