A 26-YEAR-OLD man and a woman, 24, have been charged with murder after a one-year-old baby died.
Emergency services were called to a home in the New Bilton area of Rugby, in Warwickshire, at 4.35am on Tuesday, after reports of an infant in cardiac arrest.
A 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from Rugby have now both been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
The man has also been charged with possession of indecent images, said Warwickshire Police.
The baby was taken to hospital, but died despite the best efforts of paramedics, said the force.
They are due to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
In a statement issued on Friday, the force said: “A 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from Rugby have both been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
“The man has also been charged with possession of indecent images.”
