NICKY HENDERSON has waved goodbye to a big Cheltenham Festival fancy – after selling him for a ‘six-figure sum’ to a rival trainer in ‘unusual’ circumstances.

The seven-year-old gelding has won four of his six races and is a three-time winner at Cheltenham.
A natural chaser, he is 20-1 for both the Ultima Handicap Chase and National Hunt Chase at March’s Festival.
Peaky Boy was initially offered through the sales ring at £195,000 but didn’t sell.
It later emerged the horse had changed hands privately for an ‘undisclosed six-figure sum’ and gone to Jonjo O’Neill.
The Grand National-winning trainer, who now trains in tandem with son AJ, recent acquired the hugely promising Indiana Dream from Willie Mullins.
Peaky Boy was bought by Martin Tedham and Wasdell Properties Ltd, who own, among others, former Grand National favourite Monbeg Genius.
Harris also sold five-time winner In The Air and six-year-old mare Break My Soul for £15,000 and £70,000 respectively.
While Kansas Du Berlais, who raced under Adam West but was sold by Seven Barrows, went for £10,000.
Harris said on X that he decided to sell a number of horses because, among other reasons, their marks were too high.
Of Peaky Boy, he wrote: “Peaky Boy is bombproof and a lovely horse but again his mark’s now high and he’s not overly big.
“Like any operation they all need to pay their way.”
Despite the horses going up for sale, legendary trainer Henderson has an incredibly strong hand for Cheltenham.
Constitution Hill, Sir Gino and Lulamba head the markets for the Champion Hurdle, Arkle and Triumph Hurdle respectively.
While Jonbon cemented his place at the top of the Champion Chase betting after crushing Energumene in the Clarence House.
Henderson is also ready to unleash world-record jumps horse Palladium at Huntingdon on Thursday.
