CONOR McGREGOR has deleted copies of CCTV footage shown to the jury in a civil action taken against him by Nikita Hand.

A jury found in a civil case last November that McGregor had sexually assaulted Ms Hand – who accused him of rape in a Dublin hotel in 2018.

And an order from the High Court in January directed McGregor not to share footage shown to the court on the night of the alleged incident.

The MMA fighter was also told to give back or destroy any copies he had.

Mr Justice Alexander Owens ordered McGregor to swear an affidavit setting out in detail how he had done so.

And according to RTE in Ireland, McGregor has now filed a brief affidavit outlining that he has deleted the footage.

It also reportedly states that he intends to file a more detailed affidavit before the matter comes back to court next month.

Mr Justice Owens said a jury had determined that McGregor assaulted Nikita Hand on 9 December 2018 in the Beacon Hotel in Dublin.

She was awarded €250,000 (£210,000) in damages.

The judge said the issue was conclusively determined by the jury against McGregor and would remain the position unless the Irishman persuaded a higher court to overturn the verdict.

McGregor has publicly vowed to appeal the court’s decision.

The judge said it was not open to McGregor to make contrary claims or selectively use bits and pieces of evidence in the public arena to suit himself.

Additionally, the judge said there was a real and demonstrable risk that McGregor would provide the footage to an Italian business associate – Gabriel Ernesto Rapisarda.

Rapisarda had claimed online that the imminent release of the CCTV footage would increase sales of McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout.

Mr Justice Owens said he was exercising his inherent jurisdiction to make sure there was no contempt of court.

As the matter was now over, the judge said it was not necessary for McGregor to hold any copies of the CCTV or any other materials.

The judge also expressed concern that the material could be misused on social media.

CCTV footage in question showed McGregor, Ms Hand and their friends, James Lawrence and Danielle Kealy, in the car park and lift of the Beacon Hotel, before and after McGregor assaulted Ms Hand.

It was played to the court on multiple occasions during the trial and viewed by the jury during their deliberations.

McGregor has to pay most of Nikita Hand’s costs, estimated at €1.3m (£1m).

The UFC star has not fought in the cage since July 2021 – in a bout where he suffered a leg break.

McGregor, 36, was due to return last June against Michael Chandler but a toe injury forced him out.

UFC boss Dana White expects McGregor to fight later in the year after breaking his silence over the civil case.

White told media at a press conference in December: “What do you mean what’s my reaction. If I had a comment I would’ve put it out already.”

McGregor has most recently been promoting Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – which he co-owns with David Feldman.
