INIS OIRR (2.25 Musselburgh, nap)
He can defend his Edinburgh National crown. We know he likes this quirky track and stays all day. This will have been his target for a long time and he’s off the same mark as last year if you include his rider’s claim.
MONSIEUR BEAULIEU (2.05 Lingfield, nb)
He showed plenty of pace when winning over course and distance last time and a 4lb rise in the weights gives him every chance of following up under Hollie Doyle.
HAMSIYANN (3.00 Musselburgh, treble)
He looked capable of winning again when scoring at Cheltenham last time. He powered up the hill so this extra mile should hold no fears. He still has a fair weight despite a 10lb rise and he can improve again for Tony Martin.

MUSSELBURGH

ASTA LA PASTA has been consistent since switching to fences and went close in a better race than this at Kempton last time.
He’s still on a fair mark and likes this trip.
Alien Storm had a bit up his sleeve when winning at Plumpton and is only 2lb higher.
He stays well and will like the ground so is the biggest threat.
Insurrection looks capable of more than we’ve seen so far and has had a little help from the handicapper.
Choose A Copper has had a wind op which may help Lucinda Russell’s hope.

It’s wide open but he can go close for Lucinda Russell.
She has another chance with Cadell who is dropping down from Grade 2 level and shapes like a stayer.
King Turgeon won three good contests in a row before another solid third at Wincanton last month.
He has plenty of stamina and is still on a fair mark despite carrying top weight.
Anglers Crag won the Eider so won’t lack for stamina, while Surrey Quest was second in the Scottish National and makes the shortlist.

Another Irish raider Samui looks the main danger after scooting in at Thurles last time out.
He was a stayer on the Flat so moving up in trip could be the making of Gordon Elliott’s six-year-old.
Doyen Quest is proven over this trip and won nicely at Cheltenham two runs ago.
He couldn’t quite repeat the feat there last time but will be in the mix.
Pyffo is consistent and was a good second over this trip at Doncaster latest.

THISTLE ASK was a useful hurdler and came back from 20 months off with a promising first chase run at Ayr.
He’s had another little break since then and is handicapped to go very close under Ryan Mania.
Chapel Green won with a bit in hand on his last run here in November.
He’s 8lb higher in the weights now but should be right in the mix again.
Hold On To The Line could be overpriced for a place given how he chased home Chapel Green last time.
Grain D’Oudairies would have figured in the finish but for a late fall at Wetherby last time.
