HIGH COURT JUDGE (7.30 Wolverhampton, nap)

Makes plenty of appeal as he bids for a four-timer. Trainer James Owen is rapidly making a name for himself with top hurdlers like East India Dock but he’s making hay on the all-weather too. This five-year-old kicked off his latest winning run here last month and quickly followed up at Southwell and Lingfield without breaking sweat. He saves his best for this 1m4f distance and a mark of 61 means he can still ply his trade in these low-level handicaps.

PRINCE CLENI (1.40 Southwell, nb)

Was a good winner over course and distance on New Year’s Day. He then followed up at Doncaster last time where he went down by just a neck. He made a costly error that set his back before Christian Williams’ chaser finished like a train. The handicapper has taken a chance with just a 1lb rise and he can strike again.

PATROL (6.00 Wolverhampton, nb)

Rarely puts a foot wrong on the all-weather with three places and a win from his four runs this season. He went close here last time and takes a slight drop in grade here.

KALIUM (3.30 Carlisle, Lucky 15)

Made it two hurdles wins from three runs when winning easily at Fontwell on Boxing Day. He keeps it simple out in front and kept delivering more when challenged. Tim Vaughan’s hope has plenty of pace and the handicapper has been fair with an opening mark of 121 which he can build on here.
