A NURSERY manager who ‘headbutted’ a two-year-old boy as part of a twisted punishment has avoided jail.
Karen White, 67, made the youngster cry during the horror and callously remarked: “That’s the only way he’ll learn”.

She pushed her forehead against the boy and “applied pressure” after the toddler headbutted another child.
White also shoved him into a sensory board to teach him a lesson and pulled another child’a arm – causing her to fall and hit her head.
The gran-of-15 admitted three counts of cruelty to children who were in her care at a south London nursery in 2021.
She avoided prison and was instead made subject to a 24-month community order, with 250 hours on unpaid work requirement and 12 hours of rehabilitation activity.
The Old Bailey heard White showed “blatant disregard” for the children in her care.
In a victim impact statement, the mum of the non-verbal boy said he “cowers” when carers approach him now.
She wrote: “I will never forgive myself for putting my child in the situation he was by putting him in the care of Karen.
“My son suffered night terrors almost every night when he was in the care of Karen.
“It’s sad I will never be able to fully trust anyone with my son again.”
White said the context of the incidents has been “misunderstood” but pleaded guilty because she wanted to get the case over with.
She has spent her whole life working in child care and has done an “enormous” amount of voluntary work during her life, the court heard.
White has now retired and is living on her state pension while also volunteering at a charity shop.
Sentencing, Judge Lynn Tayton said: “The letters I have read have only good things to say about you.
“It becomes baffling as to why someone with your track record has committed these offences.”
