They were fighting it out with field goal attempts with the first to score the winner.

Peyton opened up from 25 yards, but his his effort wide left to his dismay.

It was then Eli’s turn, but his attempt was dreadful and he shanked it.

The effort didn’t even reach the goal posts, to the laughter of the crowd.

“That was bad,” said Rob Gronkowski, who was watching on.

They then moved the field goal attempts forward to 20 yards.

Peyton then went again, and it was agony for the Denver Broncos legend.

He struck his attempt well, but it doinked off the post and came back out.

Eli then hit his 20 yard attempt straight down the middle, winning the live show event on Fox NFL Sunday.

He leaped in the air in delight, before shaking his brother’s hand in respect.

The former quarterback was then asked what it means to be the winner.

“This feels unbelievable,” he said.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment.

“I’ve been grinding and working so hard to finally be a kicker.”

Eli was then asked about his injuries in the build-up to the Kick of Destiny.

The 44-year-old pulled a number of muscles in the build-up to Sunday’s pre-Super Bowl event.

“I’ve just pulled another one,” he replied.

“It was well worth it. Al the pain, all the dedication.

“The the medicine I’ve been taking to get through this.”

However, fans watching the Kick of Destiny before the Kansas City Chiefs against Philadelphia Eagles claimed it was rigged.

They suggested Peyton let his brother win because he was snubbed from the NFL Hall of Fame this week.

“The ‘Kick of Destiny’ was #RIGGED!!! Peyton Manning took a dive!!,” one said.

Another added: “They felt bad for Eli not making the HoF this week.

“Good older brother compassion from Peyton.”

Last year, Gronkowski missed the Kick of Destiny 2, meaning punters lost out on $10 million in free bets.
