He first hit the headlines when at the age 10 he became the youngest Brazilian in history to sign a sponsorship deal with Nike.
He has been making waves in the academy of Palmeiras ever since and has already been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs.
We revealed last year that Arsenal were tracking the winger while Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Man City have all been linked more recently.
His agent, Andre Curry, has tipped the teen to be a potential Ballon d’Or winner.
He already represents Vitor Roque, another Samba Star that has agreed to join Barcelona.
And Barca’s sporting director Deco allegedly sees Messinho as “his next big goal” – something both player and his representative seem to support.
The attacker took part in an interview recently where he outlined his dream of moving to the Nou Camp and following in his idol Lionel Messi’s footsteps.
He said: “Messi has always been my main inspiration. I watch videos of him every day. He’s a master. I can’t put into words how phenomenal he is.

“How can I explain in words that everything he does is phenomenal? I always try to replicate him on the field.”
Then, in a huge blow to City, he outlined his ambition to play for Barcelona when asked about their interest.
“Yes, I watch almost all of Barcelona’s matches; I’m a fan of the club,” he replied.
“I have great admiration for the players who play there, and I hope to be there myself someday.”
The quotes soon spread on social media – but it was the youngster’s name that had supporters talking the most.
“This is the greatest name in football history there is no way he wasn’t gonna make it,” responded one fan to the news.
Another joked: “Messinho, are you kidding me…”
“The name Messinho will bring a lot of expectations,” said a fellow fan before they added: “I hope he can keep up.”
Another said that he was “destined for greatness” as a fellow footy supporter said: “I mean with that name… We are cooking!”
As a Barcelona fan added: “Well if he is a mixture of Messi and Ronaldinho I dream of him playing for Barca too.”
