Brighton vs Chelsea preview
Brighton and Chelsea clash for the third and final time this season at the Amex Stadium – six days after their last meeting in the FA Cup.
The Seagulls came from behind to beat Chelsea and reach the fifth round of the competition courtesy of goals Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma.
It’s now level between the pair this campaign with Chelsea having clinched a 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge back in September.
The Blues arrive nine points and six places above their cup conquerors.
Enzo Maresca’s side are sat in fourth position but will need to show greater consistency with the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle and Bournemouth breathing down their necks.
Chelsea have won twice, drawn twice and lost once over the last five league matches, while they’ve now gone five games without a win in all competitions away from home (D2, L3).
As for the hosts, they’ll hope that Friday’s win can propel them back into form.
Brighton have lost their last two top-flight games against Everton and Nottingham Forest without scoring, while they’ve won only twice at home since November 9th (L3, D4).
Before the FA Cup win, Brighton had lost each of their last four meetings with Chelsea in all competitions, winning just one of their last 11 home matches against the Blues (D3 L7).

Brighton vs Chelsea preview betting tips and predictions
Carded
Brighton’s midfield enforcer Carlos Baleba managed to avoid a booking last weekend despite committing more fouls than anyone else on the pitch (2).
The 21-year-old has picked up a total of six cautions in 20 Premier League games this season – including three in his last five starts for the Seagulls. Only Georginio Rutter has committed more fouls than Baleba at the Amex this season, so we expect him to go in the book at some point as Chelsea seek revenge.

Assist
Kaoru Mitoma got himself on the scoresheet last weekend, and we’re backing him to get another goal involvement on Friday with an assist at 9/2 with William Hill.
The Japan international, 27, has three assists this season – despite having created a massive 32 chances for his colleagues in 24 league appearances. His chances created and xA (expected assists) are higher than any Brighton player (3.42).
