THIS is the incredible moment a convoy of Vladimir Putin’s Soviet flag waving troops were taken out by Ukrainian drones.

The Russian leader’s terror soldiers were packed into dozens of armoured vehicles brazenly rolling in the Kursk region but they were stopped in their tracks by landmines and drones.

Putin’s men were taken out near Nikolskoye on the Ukrainian front line.

Shocking footage showed these soldiers waving the red Soviet hammer and sickle flag.

Moments later, troops from Russia’s 155th Naval Infantry Brigade were taken out as they unknowingly moved across a minefield.

The spectacular trap was laid by the Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade.

Incredible footage caught the graphic destruction by drones and mines that dramatically halted Russia’s full-frontal attack.

This explosive outcome and win for Ukrainian troops has been another part of Putin’s failing counteroffensive in the Kursk region.

Telegram channel Fish Head suggested the use of historic Soviet flags was to rekindle memories of Second World War triumphs and “to please the grandfathers like in the movies”.

This has not been the first major win for the Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade, which defeated at least two major Russian and North Korean assaults this month.

This comes ahead of the start of US-Russian talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, intended to halt the almost three-year war.

These fraught meetings have already drawn major controversy as Ukraine has not been invited to these peace talks, government sources say.

Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy to Ukraine, said Kyiv would be involved in these discussions.

Despite this, a senior Ukrainian government source told the BBC no delegation would be present.

These discussions in Saudi Arabia will be the first high-level in-person meetings between Russia and the US in years.

They will involve Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian officials.

Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz and White House Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff will also be present.

Last week, US President Donald Trump initiated the peace talks process by calling Putin just weeks after he returned to The White House.

Both made it clear they believe an end to the war is in sight – but many have concerns it will come at the expense of Ukraine.

Mad Vlad is expected to make a range of deranged demands during these discussions.

These are expected to include Russia keeping the land it has grabbed since the terror 2022 invasion.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has also been adamant that there is no chance Ukraine would be allowed to join Nato.
