Schoolboy, 13, dies after horror Vauxhall Corsa crash as five teens arrested & cops plea for dashcam footage

A BOY, 13, has tragically died just days after being involved in a horror car crash.

The teenager was critically injured after a black Vauxhall Corsa spun off a West Yorkshire road in the early hours of February 4.

Cops have confirmed that the young boy sadly died from his injuries in hospital with tributes pouring in from friends on social media.

Five other teenagers who were also in the car when it careered off the A672 Oldham Road were arrested over the crash.

They have since been released on police bail.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened shortly before 1am.

Police have confirmed the boy’s family are being supported by specialist officers.

They have shared heart-breaking tributes describing themselves as lost without their little boy.

His sister wrote: “Heartbroken is an understatement and I’m gonna be so lost without my little menace of a brother, keep causing chaos up there little man, I love you today, tomorrow and forever, our little h-forever.”

The boy’s mum described him as her “whole heart and soul”.

Meanwhile his uncle and dad shared pictures of him captioned with hearts.

Many friends have posted their condolences to the family on social media.

One friend wrote: “We are all going to miss you H Fly high buddy.”

Another put: “RIEP H Fly high with the angels FOREVER 13.”

Det Insp Paul Conroy from the West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a 13-year-old boy losing his life.

“Our thoughts go out to his family and specialist officers are working to support them at this time.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and would ask anyone with any information who hasn’t already been in contact with us to please get in touch.

“We particularly want to hear from anyone who may have seen the car involved in the time leading up to the collision or may have dashcam or other video footage that will help with our enquiries.”

Officers previously appealed for witnesses after the boy was left with life-threatening injuries.

Police were first called to the road before 1am after reports of a car carrying six people had left the carriageway.

The car is thought to have been travelling from junction 22 of the M62.
