A DETECTIVE responsible for violent sex cases struck up sexual relationships with junior staff, a misconduct panel heard.

Married Roger Wood, pictured above, bragged that he was a “bad ass” and could be their “sugar daddy” and boasted of his “rank, importance and power”.

He told one “vulnerable” woman after sex at her home: “Now you’ve had the DCI.”

DCI Wood, of Hampshire Constabulary, asked a staff member to knit him socks with the words “world’s best detective”.

He is charged with gross misconduct over inappropriate emotional relationships with two women A and B, and excessive communications with Ms B.

Both felt “used” by him, the panel was told.

DCI Wood, nationally recognised for his work, quit in 2024 after 16 years.

He denies any conduct breach.

Eastleigh hearing continues.
