Shopper ‘sexually assaulted inside Sainsbury’s’ as cops release CCTV in urgent manhunt

POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a shopper was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a supermarket.

The horrific assault was reported inside a Sainsbury’s store on Red Bank Road in Blackpool, Lancashire, on the evening of December 3 last year.

Now, Blackpool Police has released a CCTV still of a man they want to speak to, and have urged the public to help find him.

Police explained that enquires had been ongoing “offline” after the report but that now they were looking for information from the public.

The image shows a man with light brown hair and facial hair walking wearing a dark grey hoodie and white t-shirt.

He was also appears to be have been wearing a pair of dark blue workman’s trousers.

Both his hoodie and trousers appeared stained with what may be paint or other material.

Blackpool Police said in a statement: “We would like to speak to him, after we received a report of a sexual assault at the Sainsbury’s supermarket on Red Bank Road, shortly before 8pm on 3rd December 2024.

“Enquiries offline have been ongoing since we received the report, but we are now asking for your help.”
