The Red Devils secured all three points thanks Diogo Dalot’s stunning long-distance strike in the 77th minute.

But fans couldn’t believe that they’d seen the flying chair headed for the Man Utd squad amid the celebrations.

On social media one fan wrote: “Somebody threw a chair at the end there!”

While another added: “Did someone try and throw a chair at them??”

A third suggested it was a Sheffield United fan that launched the chair pitch side, commenting: “Dalot’s screamer goal will be remembered, but so will the chair. Sheffield fans had no chill.”

And a fourth added: “I know it’s been a frustrating season for Sheffield United, but a fan throwing his chair toward the field in disgust is just aggressive.”

From the footage of the incident it is not clear who was responsible for lobbing the plastic chair.

And it wasn’t the only bizarre moment in last night’s game either with fans spotting one supporter head on to the pitch to confront Bruno Fernandes and Co.

Man Utd picked up three points in the Premier League for the fifth time this season, building on their win over Brentford before the international break.

And it was all about Scott McTominay before Dalot’s late winner as the Scottish midfielder bagged the opener for Man Utd before turning into a villain just minutes later.

An incoming cross struck the outretched arm of McTominay inside the area and referee Michael Oliver awarded The Blades a penalty.

Up stepped Oli McBurnie who confidently dispatched his spot kick past Andre Onana and in to the top corner and cancelled out McTominay’s finish.
