Schoolboy, 11, stabbed at primary school by fellow pupil as he’s rushed to hospital & cops swarm scene

AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed during an incident at a primary school this afternoon.

Cops and emergency services rushed to the scene in North Dublin at around 10.30am today.

The 11-year-old boy was rushed to hospital where he was treated for injuries that were deemed to be non-life threatening, said cops.

Gardai confirmed that the two children involved in the incident both attended the school.

The other boy is said to be under the age the criminal responsibility of 14, and therefore cannot be arrested.

Police reassured the public that there was no concern for public safety.

A garda spokesperson said: “Earlier today, Gardaí attended an incident that occurred at a primary school in North Dublin involving two children.

“Both children involved attend the school.

“One male child has been taken to a hospital in Dublin with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

“Gardaí are in contact with the parents of both children.

“An Garda Síochána is currently liaising with school management and staff with a view to identifying the precise circumstances around the incident.”

Gardai are now continuing to cooperate with all State agencies regarding the incident.

They also confirmed the incident is not a threat to public safety.

The spokesperson continued: “An Garda Síochána will continue to engage with all relevant State agencies regarding this incident.

“There is no concern for public safety.”
