Singapore is one of the most gruelling races on the calendar with temperatures in the cockpit reaching up to 60 degrees.

Netflix’s hit fly-on-the-wall series airs its new season this Friday 7 March.

The cameras capture Mercedes driver Russell rushing to an ice bath after the race with his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt by his side.

He said: “My whole skin is tingling” before cameras were sent out of his room and microphones picked him up doing breathing exercises with a team member.

Russell added: “It was 60 degrees in there. My whole body overheated.

“I lost 4kg in that race. It’s only afterwards that you realise how serious that was.”

Both Mercedes drivers Russell and Lewis Hamilton complained of excessive heat in the cockpit last year, with the seven-time world champion also overheating in Singapore.

Both drivers missed post-race interviews with the Mercedes cockpit was the subject of controversy last year.

Russell and Hamilton complained of excessive heat and the team have tried to resolve the problem in their 2025 car.

New cooling technology to combat heat exhaustion was introduced after the Qatar Grand Prix in 2023 where some drivers passed out and vomited in the car.

Footage of Christian Horner’s X-rated reaction to his ‘sexting’ scandal is also included in the latest Drive to Survive season.

In another scene Toto Wolff also appeared to hint Lewis Hamilton did not want Max Verstappen as a teammate at Mercedes.
