SHOCKING new videos has shown rifle-wielding gunmen storming the streets of Damascus after 1,500 people have reportedly been slaughtered in Syria’s power vacuum.
Horrifying clashes between pro-Assad loyalists and the terror group that drove out the dictator, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), have ravaged the war-torn nation for the past four days.

Shocking new clips have emerged showing the violence that has erupted in Syria.
Terrifying videos showed civilians being hit with poles while being forced to crawl on the floor.
Others were shoved while rifles were pointed at their heads.
These deadly battles ignited when ousted Bashar al-Assad’s supporters attacked the nation’s interim government, which toppled the dictator in December.
Assad’s loyalists attacked a security checkpoint in the Western coat town of Latakia on Thursday.
Electricity and drinking water were also cut off in prominent areas around the city.
Most of the former tyrant’s supporters were from the Alawite sect, which is a branch of Shia Islam that Assad was part of.
On Friday, they were met with Sunni Muslim fighters loyal to Syria’s new leader and the head of HTS Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Witnesses revealed how women were reportedly forced to “walk naked” in the streets before being shot dead.
And a teenage boy was also handed a rifle and forced to shoot his own family, reports claim.
The new government said it was responding to attacks from remnants of Assad’s forces – and blamed “individual actions” for the heinous violence.
Syria’s defence ministry spokesperson, Hassan Abdul Ghany revealed the deadly fighting has since ended.
Ghany said: “We are paving the way for life to return to normal and for the consolidation of security and stability.”
He added that plans were in place to fight any remnants of Assad’s loyalist fighters that have remained even after the tyrant fled to Moscow.
Ghany said: “We were able to absorb the attacks from the remnants of the former regime and its officers.
“We shattered their element of surprise and managed to push them away from vital centres, securing most of the main roads.”
Al-Sharaa vowed on Sunday to hunt down the perpetrators of the violent clashes and said he would hold to account anyone who overstepped the new rulers’ authority.

The civil war that has been raging in Syria since March 2011 has left more than half a million people dead and millions displaced.
The new government has pledged to unite Syria after 14 years of civil war.
But challenges remain as Syrians celebrate, but hopes rise for a democratic future after years of war.
Assad’s fall not only signals the collapse of a dynastic dictatorship but also underscores the cost of clinging to power through terror.
