Anderson was handed a tricky first round tie against Scutt but came through as the winner 6-2.
After his seven-match winning run, he heaped praise on the world No60, saying: “I rate Connor highly and I am a big fan of him.
“He is a little cheeky bugger. But he puts the work in.
“He was not quite on it first game today, but first games are always a nightmare.
“He is going to be one to watch. I watched him in the UK Open and I had great pleasure watching him. He is going to be something else.
“It is a long day and he needs to get used to that because this is what it is like.
“But I expected him to get used to that. I expect him to do well. He is going to put a hole in the rankings.”
Anderson was accused of ruining a “fairytale” run to the final for Scutt.

But the The Flying Scotsman revealed he was desperate to win as the last few months have been “tough” amid a recent drop in form.
Scutt, 28, caught the eye in the recent UK Open, beating Gerwyn Price before a fifth round exit.
He made the quarter-final of the Players Championships Finals last year and has twice made the second round at the World Championships.
