Tributes to the United legend also took place ahead of kick-off in the club’s first home match since his death.
Charlton passed away on Saturday at the age of 86 following a long battle with dementia.
Inside the wreath, United included a note bearing a special message to their former striker.
“Loved, Adored, Never Forgotten. Thank You. The Manchester United Family,” read the message.
The club also shared a snap of the wreath to X, formerly Twitter, along with the words: “Here in spirit. Always.”
Supporters were left emotional by the tributes, with one commenting: “In our memories.”
Another added: “Always in our hearts.”
A third fan also wrote: “Keep resting legend.”

Meanwhile, one more said: “Sir Bobby will be missed.”
Charlton survived the Munich Air Disaster in 1958 before going on to score 199 goals for the Red Devils.
He was also part of the side which won the European Cup in 1968.
That triumph came two years after he had won the World Cup with England and been awarded the Ballon d’Or.
Charlton’s international career also saw him score a then-record 49 goals for the Three Lions, a tally which has only been beaten by Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane.
