The tot was rushed to a nearby fire station on Wednesday before being taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 11.43am.
Cops said there were multiple dogs inside the home at the time of the horror, but it’s still unclear which one bit the infant.
Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua told local outlet WBNS the incident is being treated as a “tragic accident” and no charges are expected.
“There is really not a lot of words I can say to convey how I feel and how the officers who arrived [feel],” he added.
“Everyone in this process is literally grieving as if this child belonged to us because most of us are parents and can’t imagine just how this scene is.”
Bodycam footage obtained by WSYX showed officers arriving at the home as a man told them a dog had attacked the child.
He explained one of the dogs was placed in a black car, with two more still on the property.
Franklin County Animal Control officers later removed the three pitbulls from the home.
They will determine the fate of the animals following an investigation.
Heartbroken mum Mackenzie Copley posted emotional tributes online alongside pictures of her baby girl snuggling up to one of the dogs.
“I will never understand why!!! I am so lost and broken,” she wrote, followed by broken heart emojis.
“This was the same dog who was side by side with my baby every single day.”
Dad Kameron Turner also shared his grief on Facebook, writing: “Life is so not fair man why us why are [sic] baby.
“How can I continue living without her man?”
He later posted Elizah’s obituary, saying: “My poor baby.”
Elizah was remembered as a “spunky, happy” baby who “was never without a smile,” her obituary read.
“She brought light to everyone’s life, healed her family’s hearts and gave them all purpose.
“Her favorite times were spent laughing with mom and dad.”

Nicknamed “Kicking Wing” by her grandpa, she earned the title because “every time someone new walked into the room her legs started kicking away because of how excited she was to see you.”
A GoFundMe page set up to support the devastated parents reads: “No parent should ever have to endure this kind of pain. In a matter of moments, their beautiful journey as new parents was turned into one of unimaginable grief and heartbreak.”
As of Sunday, around $3,600 had been raised for the grieving family.
A funeral is set to be held for Elizah on Monday.
While pitbulls are banned in some parts of Ohio, they are allowed in Columbus, according to the BSL Census.
