But there were unsettling scenes as a man ran onto the field midway through the game.

He led security on a wild goose chase in comical scenes before nearing Mbappe.

And after approaching the World Cup winner, the pitch invader grabbed him for a hug before shrugging off security to lap the field again.

Fans at home found the whole incident hilarious.

One said: “Can’t wait to see this on top 10 most heartwarming sports moments.”

Another declared: “Lucky pitch invader! Mbappe’s sportsmanship shines even off the field.”

One joked: “’Thanks for hugging me bro, now it’s time to go to jail’.”

Another noted: “He met the GOAT!”

One added: “What a moment for the guy.”

PSG made light work of Milan yesterday for their second win of the group stage campaign.

Second half goals from new forwards Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in ensured victory as Newcastle were beaten by Borussia Dortmund.

It means despite being thrashed 4-1 at St James’ Park this month, PSG are now top of Group F with two wins from three games.

Dortmund and Newcastle are level on four points, while Milan prop up the group on two points.
