Elsewhere in Kent, a child who had gone missing was discovered walking along the hard shoulder of the M25, just metres from fast-moving traffic.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near Brasted around midday on April 7 after receiving reports of a child seen wandering dangerously close to the motorway.

It’s thought the youngster had made his way onto the road from a nearby home, sparking a large-scale search effort.

A concerned passer-by spotted the child and helped guide him back to safety, where he was later given safety advice by police.

Officers also visited the boy’s home, spoke with his family, and carried out a series of welfare checks to ensure his wellbeing.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 12.07pm on April 7, 2025 to concerns for the welfare of a young child seen on the hard shoulder of the M25 near Brasted.

“A member of public assisted the child who was reported to have gained access to the hard shoulder from a nearby property.

“Patrols visited the property and spoke to the child’s family who had also been searching for him. Welfare checks were made and safety advice was provided.”

Meanwhile, in Canterbury, a fuming shopper smashed a vegan protestor’s megaphone during a protest against lamb at Easter.

The group held up screens showing footage of animal slaughter and spoke through a loud speaker inside a local Asda branch.

But one man saw red as he grabbed the woman’s loud hailer and hurled it to the floor before stomping off.

While some said the group were in the wrong for being inside the store, others described the man as a “stereotypical meat headed, meat eating man-atrocity.”

Protester Ella Wild uploaded the video to her Facebook page, saying “an angry man” had destroyed her megaphone.
