COPS are probing a late-night attempted robbery on one of Nigel Farage’s top aides — just hours after a whirlwind day of campaigning with the Reform UK boss.

The senior aide, who we are not naming, was jumped by two men outside their Central London home in the early hours of Wednesday.

He had just wrapped up a busy day on the road with Farage, hitting five counties in a major push for next Thursday’s local elections.

A source told the Sun on Sunday: “He had just got home in the early hours and parked outside his front door when two men approached from the drivers’ side and the passenger side.

“When he opened the door – suddenly these blue latex gloves grabbed him by the arm. And he legged it.”

The two men did not follow him and the source said they suspect they were trying to avoid being caught on nearby CCTV cameras.

They added: “It’s endemic of the crime spree affecting our cities.”

The Met Police said: “Officers attended and searched the area. No injuries were reported and no property was stolen from the victim. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”
