The former Brentford and Barnet player went wide-eyed during a hilarious episode of the ITV show.

Chaser Shaun Wallace and the contestant were locked in a heated battle.

But everyone was left stunned when a bizarre football question popped up on screen.

It read: “In football, if a direct free-kick goes straight into a team’s own goal, what is awarded to the opposing team?”

Both the contestant and Chaser Wallace appeared confused as they pondered the answers.

The three were “goal”. “indirect free-kick” and “corner.”

But Walsh was adamant he knew the answer.

After the contestant pressed their button, he declared: “You don’t have to (watch football to know).

ITVWalsh and fans at home could not believe the FA regulation[/caption]

“If a direct free-kick goes into its team’s own goal, then it’s got to be a goal, because it’s an own goal.”

The screen then revealed the contestant had chosen “corner.”

Walsh said: “You’ve put a corner? Why have you don that?

“It’s got to be a goal. A goal’s a goal.”

However, the contestant soon saw a flashing green signal for a correct answer.

And Walsh’s jaw hit the floor as he tried to make sense of things.

He added: “I’m not having that!”

The contestant replied: “Every day’s a school day!”

Indeed, regulation 13 of the FA’s Laws of the Game states that a corner kick is the correct procedure if a team hits a direct free kick into their own goal.

But like Walsh, fans at home were also left scratching their heads.

One said: “Football fans, have you heard of this rule? It’s scrambling my head.”

Another noted: “I don’t understand why that wouldn’t just be an own goal?”

One added: “I heard about it but thought it was classing trolling, but guess not.”
