Ten explosions heard near international airport in Kashmir as India & Pakistan trade blows with nations on brink of war

AT least 10 explosions have been heard near Srinagar International Airport in India-controlled Kashmir, according to Indian officials.

The blasts come just hours after blackouts were issued and sirens were heard in the entire region amid reports of drone attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian defence sources said a new wave of drone attacks targeted Indian Kashmir for a second straight evening Friday, including the city of Jammu.

The source said “drones have been sighted in Jammu, Samba” in Indian-administered Kashmir and in Pathankot in the neighbouring state of Punjab, adding: “They are being engaged”.

Indian-run Kashmir’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on X: “Intermittent sounds of blasts, probably heavy artillery, can now be heard from where I am” in Jammu, adding that there was a blackout in the city.
