A MUM left in a wheelchair when she was hit by a drug driver has revealed her fury after he refused to face her in court.

The 36-year-old was branded a hero after she pushed her 11-month-old baby daughter to safety as Dale Clark ploughed into her.
Becky has now revealed how his behaviour in court when he was jailed for three years and eight months left her feeling “upset”.
She told the Mail Online: “I wanted to go to court because I was angry, and I wanted to see him.
“He did not make any eye contact and did not express any remorse. He said nothing directly to me.
“I know he has written a letter to the court, and his mother came up to us at the end and said sorry. His grandmother mouthed ‘sorry ‘. That was kind.
“But I am upset that he hasn’t said sorry to me directly.”
Becky was taking her baby Lorena to the park on April 11 when the horror unfolded in Bournemouth.
Clark had been driving at 40mph in a 30mph zone with his phone, which was being used as a sat nav, on his lap.
He was in the right-hand lane when he suddenly veered across to the left where Becky was crossing the road with her baby.
Andy Houston, prosecuting, said he “shot across and accelerated hard” as he smashed into the mum.
She was catapulted into the air “like a ragdoll” before landing face down on the ground.
Becky was airlifted to hospital in a vegetative state after suffering a traumatic brain injury, fracture to the skull, ribs, pelvis and lower left leg and a lacerated spleen.
She remained in a coma for eight weeks and is still undergoing rehabilitation.
Becky was branded a “hero” by the judge for her quick-thinking actions in pushing baby Lorena to safety.
She said: “That was nice of him to recognise that I pushed my daughter out of the way, but I would do it all over again if it was to save one of my children.
“I would do it multiple times if needs be. I am just grateful that Lorena was not hurt and that my other two children were not with me. I am so grateful that Lorena was not injured.”
Clark, who was described as having “girls and drugs on his mind” when he hit Becky, fled the scene as she lay injured on the ground.
He had contacted his dealer less than two hours before the crash, with a cleaner at the inn where he was staying finding two empty bottles of his room.
When a police officer phoned Clark, he asked if Becky was still alive and said he “couldn’t deal with it”.
A breath test later revealed 46 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath – with the legal limit 35.
When quizzed by cops, Clark admitted drinking vodka and taking £210 worth of cocaine before the crash.
He claimed Becky “literally stepped out of f***ing nowhere” and said he “s**t myself and ran away” when he saw her on the ground.
The court was told the mum has ongoing cognitive issues and problems with her memory.
She also suffers from fatigue and has physical complications from her leg fracture that causes pain still.
Her husband Dan, 41, told of the heartbreaking moment he was forced to tell their children “mummy might not be coming home”.
He said: “I do remember them asking ‘Is mummy going to die’ and I had to say I don’t know. Of course, there were lots of tears.”
Despite her injuries, Becky said she could potentially forgive Clark “over time” and admitted she doesn’t feel any real “bitterness” towards him.
She added: “He has been given a prison sentence which I think is just. The maximum was five years, so it was fair. His life has changed. I’m not sure I can ask for more.”
