Woman, 72, killed in e-bike crash as motorcycle rider, 17, arrested and bailed as cops launch urgent appeal

A WOMAN has died and a teenager arrested and bailed following an e-bike crash in Bradford.

Shaat Bibi, 72, was struck while crossing Leeds Old Road at 4.54pm on Wednesday.

The collision happened on Leeds Old Road on Wednesday May 14

The woman was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away from her injuries on Friday.

The motorcycle rider, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested and released on bail, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The boy was reportedly arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit, theft of a motor vehicle and assault.  

He was taken to hospital to be checked over following the crash.

The cops have now launched a fresh appeal for information about the horror collision.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have video footage of it should contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team by calling 101 and quoting log 1451 of May 14.  

Reports can also be made online by referencing the same log number.
