HORRIFYING footage shows the moment a shirtless “intruder” was arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman’s house and chasing her with a knife and scissors.

Dr Raisah Sawati, 37, says she was at home in Newton Heath, Manchester, around 11pm on Friday when she heard the sound of clattering dishes.

Before she knew it Raisah was face to face with a six-foot stranger standing in her kitchen.

The doctor claims the man first shouted loudly in the street before pointing at her window.

But moments later, she claims he broke into her house and grabbed a kitchen knife, then a frying pan, before following her into the living room with a pair of scissors.

The terrified woman says she tried to reason with the man, who she said was muttering nonsense and appeared “totally wired”.

After eventually managing to phone the police, cops arrived within minutes and arrested the suspect on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Footage from Raisah’s phone and indoor cameras captured the shocking moment armed officers stormed in and ordered the man to surrender.

In the video, cops can be heard shouting: “Stop resisting now” and “Come downstairs right now”.

A terrified Raisah could be heard screaming in fear behind the door as the man was cuffed.

Earlier video footage from her house shows Raisah in a stand-off with the topless man as she desperately pleaded for him to stop.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she said: “I was trying to get him to put the weapons down.

“But his grip was really strong. He was talking all sorts of gibberish nonsense, his eyes look totally wired like I’ve never seen before.”

Raisah tried to coax him out by opening the front door, but says he refused to leave.

Instead, she claims he followed her upstairs, where she barricaded herself in her bedroom and called 999 as the man banged on the door trying to get in.

She added: “I managed to call 999. It felt like ages that I was trapped upstairs in the bedroom.”

Raisah told officers the man threatened to break in through the window if she didn’t let him in.

She told officers: “I don’t know who he is. He came in through the window, he was like, ‘if you don’t let me in I’m going to come in through the kitchen window’.

“He came in through the window and he pulled a knife and wouldn’t put it down. Then he chased me up here and I kept saying to him put it [the knife] down but he wouldn’t.”

Forensics teams later collected evidence from the home, including the knife, scissors and frying pan allegedly used in the frightening ordeal.

Raisah added: “The last thing you expect is to not feel safe in your own home.

“You think you’re having a quiet night in… and then someone jumps in.

“All I could think was I was going to be stabbed or raped and nothing could’ve stopped him.”
