A TEEN girl and boy have pleaded guilty to torturing, killing then dismembering two kittens after CCTV showed them fleeing.

The vile pair used a rope to tie the defenceless animals up before “mutilating” them.

The teens were captured on CCTV carrying the animals

One of the kittens was found cut open on the ground in Ruislip, North West London, while the other was hanging from a tree.

Footage released by police showed the girl, 16, and 17-year-old boy strolling through a residential street.

The boy could be seen clutching a bag that is believed to have been used to carry the kittens.

CCTV then captured the twisted pair running back down the same street after killing the baby cats.

The defendants today appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.

They pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to the protected animals by “mutilating and killing” them.

The teens, who legally can’t be named, also admitted one count of possession of a knife.

Prosecutor Valerie Benjamin told the court members of the public had earlier seen the boy with the animal carrier on May 3.

They “became concerned” when they later saw him and the 16-year-old girl running away.

The court heard knives, blowtorches and scissors were also found at the scene.

Ms Benjamin said the boy’s phone revealed Google searches for “killing cats and dogs” and “how to kill a human”.

She added: “It is concerning because of the nature of the offence.”

After the kittens were found, police appealed for information and released CCTV.

The pair were remanded into the care of the local authority with a series of conditions including not to enter the London borough of Hillingdon, not to contact each other and to abide by a curfew of 6pm-7am.

They must also not be in possession of a live animal and are not entitled to leave their place of residence unless accompanied by someone aged 18 or over who has been approved by social services.

The teens must also register their mobile phone and sim card with police.

They will be sentenced on June 23 at the same court.

Two other teens, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty were released without charge.
