A WOMAN has allegedly been sexually assaulted in a remote wood while walking along a footpath as police appealed for witnesses.
Cops said the man approached the woman near Rutherford Drive in Wellingborough, North Northamptonshire, on May 24 between 3pm and 4pm.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, is said to have attempted to kiss the young woman without her consent in the wooded area next to an industrial estate.
He is described as being white with blond hair and a distinctive bald patch on the top of his head.
Cops said that he was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and dark blue joggers at the time of the attack.
Walkers in the local area have been warned to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police.
Northamptonshire Police called on witnesses to come forward with any information.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Did you see someone behaving inappropriately towards a young woman in the wooded area off Rutherford Drive in Wellingborough on Saturday, May 24?
“Between 3pm and 4pm, a man approached a woman as she walked along the footpath and attempted to kiss her without her consent.
“The man was white, about 30-years-old, of a medium build with blond hair and a distinctive bald patch on the top of his head.
“He was wearing a blue shirt under a dark coloured hooded top and dark blue jogging bottom.
“Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been approached by this man in a similar manner or who may have seen someone fitting the above description acting inappropriately.
“They are also urging people walking in secluded locations to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings, and to report any inappropriate or suspicious behaviour to the police.”
