THE US OPEN has been suspended due to dangerous weather conditions.
Heavy rain at the Oakmont Country Club, Pittsburgh, has led to a pause in play in the final round.

Tournament organisers initially planned to resume the final round 45 minutes from the point play was suspended.
But the weather did not clear up quickly enough so the restart was pushed back to 5:40pm local time.
The rain is expected to stop shortly but play will not resume until there is no more threat of a lightning strike.
However rain is expected in the evening with the possibility of a thunderstorm returning.
Play was paused with Sam Burns holding a narrow one-shot lead over Adam Scott.
The pair have both shot two over in round four – and that was before the weather affected conditions.

Brit Tyrell Hatton has shot the best round of the contenders so far, and is even after eight holes played.
That leaves him on one over par, level with Viktor Hovland.
Of the four Scott is the only player to have won a major, tasting success in the 2014 Masters.
