Chelsea turned to Jackson off the bench after throwing away a one-goal advantage.
He entered the fray in the 64th minute – and lasted just over 240 seconds before being sent for an early bath.
Jackson – who is celebrating his 24th birthday today – lunged in hard and high on Flamengo’s Ayrton Lucas.
The Chelsea star went over the top of the ball, colliding hard with Lucas’ left ankle.

Card-happy referee Ivan Barton was in charge of the clash in Philly.
Last season, the Salvadoran handed out an incredible 122 yellows and eight reds in just 23 matches.
But on this occasion, Jackson could have no complaints as Barton reached immediately for his red card.
The forward later apologised for his actions. He said: “I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my team-mates, and all the fans watching, I let you down. Another red card and honestly, I’m so angry at myself.
“I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation. I still don’t fully understand how it happened.
“But one thing is clear, it wasn’t intentional. Just a football moment that went the wrong way.
“No excuses. I take full responsibility.
“I’ll reflect, I’ll grow, and I’ll come back stronger for the badge and for everyone who believes in me. Sorry. Sorry.”
It’s the second time in a matter of weeks that Jackson has been sent off in Chelsea colours.

The Senegal forward saw red after elbowing Newcastle star Sven Botman during the race for Champions League qualification in May.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca spoke ahead of last month’s Conference League final and claimed Jackson was “in debt” to his teammates.
He said: “He left his team-mates with ten players for one hour.
“So for sure he’s in debt. For sure he’s a good guy. For sure he recognised the mistake.
“He apologised to his teammates. That is very important.”
The Blues looked to be cruising to victory on Friday after Pedro Neto swept them infront during a dominant first half.

But veteran forward Bruno Henrique was brought off the bench by Flamengo boss Filipe Luis at the break.
Henrique levelled the scores just minutes later, before goals from Danilo and Wallace Yan heaped misery on Maresca’s men and handed the Brazilians a 3-1 win.
