TWO teenagers have died and several other people have been rushed to hospital following a “tragic” crash near the Cambridgeshire border.

The collision, on June 28, saw a huge emergency response scramble to Sandy Road, between Everton and Sandy, at around 2pm.

Two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, were pronounced dead at the scene of the horror two-vehicle crash.

The men’s next of kin have been informed and police family liaison officers are supporting them.

A number of other individuals were injured in the smash and were rushed to hospital.

The road was closed while cops carried out an investigation into the incident.

Sergeant Nicholas Kane, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “This is an unbelievably tragic incident, and our thoughts are very much with all of the family and loved ones of the two men who have sadly died in this collision.

“I am appealing for anyone who was travelling along Sandy Road and Everton Road shortly before 2.40pm to contact us, especially if you have dash-cam footage, even if it doesn’t show the collision itself.”

Anyone with information about the collision, including dash-cam footage from the area is asked to contact the police on 101 or report online quoting reference number 260 of 28 June.
