Macron’s lecherous wink at Princess Kate smacks of disrespect for UK & royals… does he think he’s on a lad’s holiday?

On first glance you’d be forgiven for thinking this was a still from Carry On Up The Palace rather than a photograph of a royal function.

It is, however, perfectly in-keeping with the rest of French President Emmanuel Macron’s UK visit so far – not so much state banquet as what-a-state-at-that-banquet.

He is a world leader, unarguably well versed in protocol and etiquette.

So why is he behaving like a proper winker, and being sleazy and over-familiar with our Princess?

What the hell is he thinking, behaving more like he’s on a lad’s holiday than an official visit?

Macron was all over Kate from the moment he arrived at RAF Northolt in West London, where the Prince and Princess of Wales waited to welcome him.

His first faux pas was trying to greet her by kissing her hand, which either he then thought better of, or she tensed up so much at the sheer unbearable awkwardness that he chickened out.

Instead he air kissed above her hand – the only possible move weirder than if his lips had actually touched her skin.

Seemingly undeterred by this cringefest, Macron then found himself sitting next to poor Kate at a glitzy, star-studded dinner at Windsor Castle that evening.

As they clinked glasses in a toast, Macron decided to go full Benny Hill and add in a wink.

Note to all men: even Harry Styles would struggle to pull off a wink, none of the rest of you should even attempt it. You look like a creep. Public service announcement over.

The way Macron has acted smacks of disrespect for the Princess of Wales, and the monarchy in general.

She’s not there as arm candy, some easy-on-the-eye ‘bit of fluff’ dolly bird to stop proceedings getting too serious and dull.

This is the mother of the future King Of England, for goodness’ sake.

A woman who takes her duty and responsibility extremely seriously, and should be treated appropriately while hard at work.

Not winked at and slobbered all over by some letch.

Wife’s rejection

APIn May a bizarre video emerged of Brigitte seemingly shoving her husband’s face[/caption]

Unsurprisingly throughout this visit, Macron’s first lady has looked like the last place she wants to be is anywhere near him.

As she embarked the plane that brought them here, Emmanuel, 47, held out his hand to help her down the steps.

Brigitte, 72, firmly ignored him, choosing a cold, metal handrail over any assistance from her husband and literally leaving him hanging.

Later they were seen in a car waiting to leave, Brigitte scrolling on her phone rather than interacting in any way with the man sitting next to her.

We can only guess what Macron will get up to next, as we roll the red carpet out for France, while he leers at England’s most precious rose

The tension between the couple comes hot on the heels of the now viral late May video of her roughly shoving his face away as they prepared to get off a plane in Vietnam.

He later called it “nonsense” and insisted they’d been “joking around”.

Presumably his wife of 18 years will have found his antics on UK soil equally hilarious.

Let’s just hope from now on he keeps his hands to himself, and both eyes open at all times.
