The terrifying incident which unfolded on a resort pier on June 30 broke out after a fight in the nearby Lower Gardens.

The fight had resulted in a teenage girl being injured and rushed to hospital.

Social media footage caught the subsequent brawl on film, as shirtless yobs clashed with police.

Some of the youths hurled projectiles at the police, while glass could be heard shattering on the ground.

In a second video depicting the Bournemouth brawl, one officer can be seen wrestling a rioter to the ground, whilst being surrounded by several young people.

A witness can be heard saying that “two women” were fighting “bare-knuckle” under “the pier”.

He added that “two men” had started another fight elsewhere and that “four police officers” had been “assaulted”.

In a moment of sarcasm, a holidaymaker can be heard saying: “Welcome to Britain!”

Police can be seen surrounding a young woman and her friend, as she screamed “no” at them.

Five officers were injured in the brawl, but none have been seriously injured.

A 22-year-old man from Newbury, Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker but they have now been released on police bail.

An 18-year-old man from Hackney has also been arrested on suspicion of assault, affray and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Police have now also released CCTV photos of 12 youths they are looking to identify in connection with the incident.

Chief Superintendent Heather Dixey, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation into what happened on the evening of June 30 is very much ongoing.

“We are determined to identify anyone believed to be involved in the reported disorder and ensure that they are held to account for the part they played.

“We have been reviewing footage from the night and have obtained images of a number of people we are looking to identify so we can take their accounts of what happened.

“From our enquiries so far, we have arrested a number of people both locally and out of county and we now believe that many of those pictured had come down to Bournemouth beach for the day and do not live in Dorset.

“I would urge anyone who recognises them to please contact Dorset Police.

“You will see a heightened police presence in the area as we want to ensure that our residents and visitors can all have a good, safe summer.”
