It’s understood he had been celebrating on holiday with pals following his birthday last month.
Staff at the hotel in the island’s San Antonio rushed to try and help the stricken tourist after he fell from height.
Paramedics were also called to the aid of Evan, who was from Aberdeen.
Tragically he was pronouced dead at the scene.
His mum Lel Kellighan informed friends and loved ones about Evan’s tragic passing.
She posted on social media: “I’m absolutely heartbroken to write and tell you all, earlier this week my son Evan was in a tragic accident whilst on holiday with his friends in Ibiza and sadly passed away.
“We are all absolutely broken.
“Please allow us some time.
“Funeral details will follow.”
Details of the fall and what caused it are currently not known.
It is understood Spain’s Guardia Civil police force are currently investigating what happened.
The plush Ibiza Rocks hotel is known as one of the island’s most popular party hotels.
It regularly hosts events which include sets from top DJs and chart-topping music stars like Craig David and Becky Hill.
Hotel staff told of their sadness over the tragic incident and sent their condolences to Evan’s family.
A spokesperson for the Ibiza Rocks Hotel told the Press and Journal: “This is a truly tragic and extremely sad situation.
“Our senior management team onsite did everything possible to help the police with their investigation into events leading up to Evan’s death, and to provide constant support from our customer services manager to Evan’s friends.
“That has included them having 24-hour access to our senior manager for any help or questions and giving them permission to pass on her mobile number to Evan’s family should they wish to call us direct.
“They were very appreciative of all the help and support at such a difficult time.
“We are deeply saddened by Evan’s death and our thoughts continue to be with his family and friends at this truly difficult time.”
Last year we told how tragic a student fell to her death in the same area of the party island.
Emma Ramsay, 19, died after plunging from a sixth floor balcony of the Hotel Vibra last August.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British national who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
Spain’s Guardia Civil has been approached for comment.
