Usyk is looking to reclaim Dynamite’s IBF belt after he was forced to vacate it in order to have a rematch with Tyson Fury last December.

The Ukrainian has already got the better of Dubois once, but in controversial circumstances.

DDD floored Uysk in the fifth round, but the punch was deemed a low blow by the referee, who then allowed The Cat almost four minutes to recover.

The boxing icon went on to knockout Dubois in the ninth round to retain his WBA, WBO and IBO belts.

Who is Oleksandr Usyk’s trainer?

Usyk’s long-time trainer is fellow Ukrainian Yuri Tkachenko.

Tkachenko has played an instrumental part in Usyk’s success, and in January, he was awarded Trainer of the Year for 2024.

He was once a professional boxer himself, but his career never hit the heights of his student.

Tkachenko had just two fights as a pro, losing both to Fiodor Czerkaszyn in 2015 and Nikita Basin in 2019.

Jakub Chycki also plays a major part in Usyk’s preparations as his strength and conditioning coach.

Speaking during camp for the Dubois rematch, Chycki said: “[Usyk] always has a lot of energy but usually it’s some kind of mask.

“He’s tired, he’s just human. Of course, [he’s] superhuman. I call him usually ‘Homosapien athleticus.’ He is amazing. But now it’s a very hard time for him.”

Chycki is also a university professor and is constantly gathering data from each session he has with Usyk.

The Ready To Fight team behind the Ukrainian, led by his childhood friend, Sergey Lapin, analyse the data from Usyk and his opponent.

Speaking on the analytical side of the heavyweight champion’s camp, Lapin said: “Our analytic department search for the different fights, they try to find weaknesses, strong sides, in order to collect the info to work on it and to give the team the proper analytics so they can see how they can impact the future fights.”

RTF are co-promoting the Usyk vs Dubois rematch in July with DDD’s promotion Queensberry.

Usyk vs Dubois 2 – All the info

OLEKSANDR USYK and Daniel Dubois meet again in a blockbuster heavyweight unification fight at Wembley Stadium THIS SATURDAY!

Usyk won the first fight in August 2023 via a ninth round KO – but only after Dubois knocked him to the canvas with a body blow that was ruled a low blow.

Dubois, 27, has improved massively since that first meeting, reeling off stunning wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.
