MANCHESTER UNITED get their pre-season underway against old foes and newly promoted Premier League side Leeds.

The Red Devils are hoping to put their worst-ever season behind them and start fresh as we tick towards the Prem opening day.

Ruben Amorim‘s side finished 15th in the 2024/25 campaign and blew their chances of Champions League qualification by losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

However, the magnitude of the club still towers above many, hence why United have still been able to recruit the likes of ex-Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha.

And the £62.5million man’s first task at hand is to break down a Leeds side who immediately bounced back up to top-flight football after being relegated in the 2023/24 season.

Daniel Farke’s men pipped Burnley to the Championship title on goal difference as both sides finished on a staggering 100 points.

When is Man Utd vs Leeds?

Manchester United go up against Leeds on Saturday, July 19.

It is scheduled to get underway at 2pm BST.

The Strawberry Arena in Stockholm is the chosen venue for this pre-season friendly and it can host approximately 50,000 fans.

Ironically, United’s wantaways Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho fired the Red Devils to a 2-0 win when the teams last met in 2023.

What TV channel is Man Utd vs Leeds on and can it be live streamed?

Manchester United vs Leeds will be shown exclusively on MUTV.

MUTV is available via Sky TV for £7 a month or £60 for 12 months’ access.

Or you can subscribe to United’s official club channel to watch, with sign-up costing £29.99 per year.

Alternatively, fans can tune into SunSport’s live blog for the entire action.

What is the team news?

New £62.5million summer signing Matheus Cunha is expected to feature for Manchester United.

Fans could see Cunha being fed by Bruno Fernandes, who has returned to training following his international duties.

However, No1 keeper Andre Onana has been ruled out after picking up a hamstring injury that will see him sidelined for over a month.

And Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho have all been exiled from pre-season as they draw closer to an Old Trafford exit.

What has been said?

Matheus Cunha is ready to make his first United appearance after beginning training with his new teammates last week.

Speaking following his move, the Brazilian said: “It is hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player.

“Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team, and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt.

“I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream a reality.

“I can’t wait for the start of pre-season to get to know my team-mates and prepare for the season ahead.

“All my focus is now on working hard to become a valuable part of the team, and helping get this club back to the top.”
