Police have launched an attempted murder probe with at least five people involved in the armed brawl.

Detective Sergeant Emma Low said: “Officers were called to a report of a vehicle within the park and a disturbance taking place.

“A 51-year-old man attended hospital following this incident.

“His XL bully dog died as a result of the disturbance.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace everyone involved.

“Our investigation is at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.”

The 22-second video opens with a masked attacker lunging towards two figures crouching at the front of the motor in Eric Hendrie Park in the Mastrick area of the city.

Dressed all in black, they raise a machete over their heard before a white and black bully charges and pins them to the side of the car.

He can be seen thrashing at the animal before a heavier man runs towards him holding what appears to be a hammer or hatchet before aiming it at his head.

They scuffle before another attacker with a machete wades into the melee.

The Mini’s engine can be heard revving as its wheels spin before it drives off drives off lifting a man off his feet.

A woman yells “Willie” and “Ian” as the dog barks and the group fight in the distance in the footage captured around 8.30pm on Sunday and shared widely online.

Police confirmed a 51-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with severe injuries.

His condition is described as serious but stable.
