BRYAN MBEUMO will make his Manchester United bow on Sunday – and Ruben Amorim can’t wait to see him in a red shirt.

Cameroon ace Mbeumo sealed his £71m move to Old Trafford hours before United set off for the US tour.

The former Brentford man has been playing fitness catch-up at United’s Chicago base, missing the opening two games of the Premier League Summer Series.

But Amorim confirmed Mbeumo, 22, will be handed a debut against Everton in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in “The Big Peach”.

The United boss said: “Bryan is going to play.

“I’m really excited to see him playing and what he can give to our team.”

Mbeumo and £62.5m Brazilian Matheus Cunha will be key elements of the new-look United, although it is unclear if the former Wolves man’s minor fatigue issue will allow them to be partnered in the second attacking line against ex-Old Trafford boss David Moyes’ men.

The prospect of the pair in harness will not help Moyes, who admits his Toffees are “nowhere near ready” for the start of the Prem season in a fortnight.

Amorim admitted he is looking to add to his squad, with Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko the No.1 target.

But the Portuguese gave the biggest hint yet that he is expecting under-pressure Andre Onana to start the new campaign in goal.

Onana has yet to play in United’s pre-season because of a hamstring injury but is now getting close to fitness and could even feature in next week’s Old Trafford friendly with Fiorentina.

Amorim added: “We are always looking to improve the team.

“And we have some characteristics that we would like to have.

“But again, it depends on the market. It depends on the sales. We’ll see. But I’m really happy.

“When you talk about Andre, you can see the goalkeepers, all of them, are leaner. Onana is going to be better this year.

“I was really excited to see the team playing the last game against Bournemouth.

“You maybe looked at the starting side and thought ‘nothing to see today’.

“But I was so excited because I know we can do better.

“So, I’m always excited, especially in this moment.”
