A MAJOR road has been closed following a “serious collision” leaving rush hour drivers delayed for hours.
Motorists on the A12 in Essex are facing down serious delays of over five hours.

The busy A road has been closed between J15 Margaretting and J16 Chelmsford.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the horror crash this morning.
National Highways and Essex Police remain on scene to assist with traffic management and diversion routes.
Drivers have been instructed to expect delays to their journey and were warned to plan ahead.
National Highways said: “The A12 in Essex is CLOSED northbound between J15 (Margaretting) and J16 (Chelmsford) due to a serious collision.
“Emergency services are in attendance. More details to follow shortly.
“Please allow extra journey time if travelling in the area.“
