A TOP news anchor has been branded a “pathetic narcissist” after he was caught pinning his firefighter’s jacket to look more butch during a Los Angeles wildfire broadcast.

As he turned around to show the destruction behind him, a clip holding his ABC-branded fire jacket from behind was revealed to the viewers.
The clamp appeared to tighten Muir’s jacket in a way that made his torso look more chiselled.
ABC viewers have since dubbed the journalist a “pathetic narcissist” and said Muir used the pin to “look more snacky” on TV while Los Angeles continued to burn.
One viewer slammed the journo saying: “He used clothes pins to pull in the fire jacket he’s wearing as a prop just so he would look snacky for TV.”
Jack Osbourne, reality star and son of rocker Ozzy, wrote: “Nice jacket bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothesline pegs while our city burns to the ground.”
While journalist Paul V Rea added: “He’s a fraud from head to toe.”
One person wrote on social media: “Just when your reputation hasn’t gotten bad enough,” while others called Muir “pathetic” and “narcissistic”.
According to the New York Post, using clothes pegs to cinch clothes is a standard style practice in TV broadcasts.
However, Muir’s use of the clothespin attracted major criticism as viewers were left fuming by the act.

The Palisades fire is the most destructive in Los Angeles’s history and has burned more than 17,000 acres, according to Cal Fire.
Some 100,000 people have been forced to evacuate from that fire – which is burning nearer denser suburbs than the Palisades blaze.
The Sunset fire is burning in the Hollywood Hills and is beginning to threaten iconic locations like the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Bowl.
Residents of the Hollywood Hills whose properties are at risk include Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga and Quentin Tarantino.

Some 1,800 desperate firefighters are bravely trying to contain the fires – but most remain at zero per cent contained.
LA Fire Chief Kristen Crowley said: “I can tell you we’re throwing all of our available resources at it as we speak. I am seeing active water drops as we speak.”
People have been pulled from burning buildings as reckless residents refuse to leave despite clear warnings from officials to do so.
Aerial bombardment of the fires has restarted after winds had been too strong late on Tuesday night.
But, dry conditions are continuing to push the exhausted firefighters to the limit with hurricane-force winds expected to last for days.
City manager Miguel Marquez called the past 22 hours “brutal,” adding that people had “put their own lives at risk to save others”.
He said how police officers have been “door to door” evacuating those still in their homes which has saved lives – calling their efforts “heroic”.
“We will not relent, we will heal, we will rebuild,” he stressed.
Three people have been arrested for allegedly looting in fire-hit areas, according to LA County Sheriff Robert Luna.
Over 30,000 acres across Los Angeles have burned since the fires began on Monday.
