AN active shooter has been reported at Florida State University in Tallahassee, with cops swarming the campus in search of a gunman.
Multiple people have reportedly been taken to the hospital after students were warned to take shelter at 12:01 pm.

Police haven’t confirmed the number of victims but local CBS affiliate WCTV reported four people were taken to the hospital.
Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Hospital confirmed they are “actively receiving and caring for patients related to an incident that has occurred at Florida State University.”
“At this time, details are still unfolding, and we do not yet have specific information to share,” the hospital posted at 12:58 pm.
“However, we want to assure the community that our teams are fully mobilized and prepared to provide the highest level of care and support to all those affected.”
At 1:04 pm, FSU instructed students to remain in place as law enforcement actively cleared rooms on the main campus.
“Law enforcement officers will use the safe word SEMINOLE to confirm it is safe to open the door,” the school wrote.
“Continue to shelter in place until law enforcement contacts you.”
FSU sent a text message to students an hour earlier, the moment the shooting was reported.
“An active shooter has been reported in the area of Student Union. Police are on scene or on the way,” the text read.
“Continue to seek shelter and await further instructions. Lock and stay away from all doors and windows and be prepared to take additional protective measures.”
Sirens could reportedly be heard all around Tallahassee on Thursday morning, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.
FSU updated students at 12:30 pm that the police have responded to the situation and urged those in need to call 911.
“Continue to shelter in place. Police have responded to an active shooter call at the Student Union. Stay alert for more information.
“Persons in need of immediate emergency assistance should call 9-1-1 or FSUPD at 850-644-1234. “
Leon County schools were on lockdown following the reported shooting, the school district’s spokesperson, Chris Petley, told local NBC affiliate WJHG.
A video posted on X from the campus shows first responders lining the school’s entrance.
First responders can be seen running through FSU in another video taken by a person inside one of the school buildings.
In the video, three law enforcement officers have their guns ready as they look around and jog through the campus.
A student activist shared their status on X, and asked for others to pray for everyone in Tallahassee.

“The shooter has supposedly been apprehended. Please pray for all of Tallahassee right now.”
A video posted on X at 12:45 pm shows dozens of students exiting the area near the Student Union with their hands up.
More footage from the scene shows three students frantically running away from campus.
“There is a shooting around the student Union,” one person posted on X. “People are running across TN Street.”
