But the deal has reportedly led to a shocking confrontation in his hometown of Stockholm.
According to Swedish newspaper ETC, there is a link between the transfer, the two gunshots and the blackmail plot being investigated by the police.
It is alleged a shooting unfolded at a house in Huddinge, Stockholm.
Two shots were fired but the reports state nobody was hit or hurt.
And Aftonbladet claim the target was supposedly the relative of a football agent who is being pressured for money.
The agent claims to have been involved in the Gyokeres deal and posted on social media.
Agents who negotiate contracts and moves for their players usually take a cut as payment.
ETC reports the agent’s family was then targeted as a result of their involvement in the Gyokeres transfer as part of a blackmail attempt.
Gyokeres is signed to the Hasan Cetinkaya Management agency.
His move to the Emirates turned bitter as he went on strike from Sporting to force through the exit.
But Gyokeres will hope to keep his focus on the pitch now he is an Arsenal player.
The striker scored a brilliant header in the Emirates Cup win over Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.
And he can win over the Gunners fans for good by notching the winner against Manchester United – who also tried to sign him – in his competitive debut in the Premier League opener on Sunday.
