He spotted it after landing back in Cyprus from Stansted following a trip to see relatives in the UK.
His young family had checked in for their Ryanair flight to Paphos 90 minutes before take-off.
The business owner said: “It’s not the recommended two hours but I’ve definitely checked in later. We had no issues at check-in.
“No one said anything to us at the desk. Everything was fine at the airport.
“When we arrived in Cyprus, we were at baggage reclaim and I saw my son’s suitcase on the belt.
“My wife Serena noticed the writing straight away.”
He added: “I’m annoyed as it was a brand new suitcase we bought in September.
“And it was actually my son’s suitcase and calling a seven-month-old that word is rude and outrageous.
“I would like Ryanair to replace the suitcase.”
He complained to the Irish budget airline, which investigated with its Stansted baggage-handing contractor ABM Blue Handling.
The contractor said: “This unacceptable incident was reported by our own team on the day, immediately investigated and following conclusive evidence, the individual involved has been dismissed.
“Mr Lucas was contacted by the airport and an apology extended. We have a zero-tolerance policy for offensive behaviour, and we want to extend our sincere apologies to Mr Lucas.”
