ALEJANDRO GARNACHO has snubbed a move to Bayern Munich as Chelsea push to agree a deal with Manchester United.

Bayern made an approach over a move for the exiled Argentine this week but were knocked back.

United value the winger at around £50million, using Noni Madueke‘s move to Arsenal from Chelsea as a benchmark.

The Blues believe Garnacho only wants to join them this summer, but talks have laboured over the asking price.

Chelsea are reluctant to meet United’s asking price and would prefer a deal closer to £40m.

Garnacho is one of two attacking targets the Club World Cup winners are looking to land before the close of the window.

Talks continue over a move for RB Leipzig‘s Xavi Simons, who is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.

Personal terms are thought to be broadly agreed with the Dutch international.

Enzo Maresca would also like to add a central defender following Levi Colwill‘s anterior cruciate ligament injury.

However, the Italian remains at odds with the directors and ownership over adding a new defender.

The hierarchy still prefer to find a solution using the options they have, with Tosin Adarabioyo expected to be fit to face West Ham on Friday.

Maresca was reluctant to add to his calls for a new defender, made ahead of the opening game against Crystal Palace, in his post-match press conference.
