But Brentford – playing in their primarily black away kit – also wore yellow socks.
So Raya was forced to wear black goalkeeper socks and also wore black shorts – similar to his away strip.
And the switch of style did not go unnoticed with fans as one said: “Did they forget Raya’s yellow pants and socks.”
Another added: “Why the hell is David Raya wearing the shorts of our away kit?”
One joked: “Raya really looks like he’s pulled his kit from lost property my OCD is going into overdrive every time I see him.”
Another said: “Has Raya got the wrong shorts on?”
The Spanish international started his career in England with Blackburn in 2014 – while have a loan spell with Southport the same year.
He then moved to Brentford in 2019 and spent five years with the Bees – joining Arsenal on loan in 2023.

Raya then made his move permanent in 2024 and has since become the Gunners’ No1.
Last year, Arsenal women’s side were forced to wear Chelsea socks bought from the Blues club shop to avoid a kit clash.
The Gunners warmed up in white socks – which clashed with Chelsea’s – so kick-off was delayed in order to buy dark ones from the megastore.
